“Ideas come from interactions with the world. From other people…the world that they live in and if you’re not having those interactions if you’re not putting yourself in the place to be inspired by how other people exist and the things that they do and the things that they’re excited by you won’t have new ideas.”

I’ve been pondering this statement made by Tim Brown, IDEO’s CEO, during an interview with Jessi Hempel in her podcast Hello Monday.  How do I get out in the world, when I’m sheltering in place?  Where do my fresh new ideas come from?

Mine have come from some surprising places.  In mundane everyday details, transformed relationships, renewed communications, and previously unexplored entertainment options.  I’ll dig deeper into each of these idea sources in the days ahead.
